First Virtual 19th Founding Anniversary titled “A Celebration of Hope, Resiliency and Making A Difference”! A major success! – July 25, 2020
The Philippine KOICA Fellows Association Inc. (PHILKOFA) celebrated its 19th founding anniversary on July 25, 2020 Saturday. This was held Online in a live green screen studio and streamed on PHILKOFA Facebook page from 1:00pm-4:00pm.
Bearing in mind the COVID-19 situation which greatly affected the country, the activity was aptly themed as “A Celebration of Hope, Resiliency and Making a Difference”
Philkofa President Gina Borinaga opened the program with her encouraging words to continue serving the community despite the challenges brought about by pandemic.
Dr. Mike Marasigan, Philkofa member and Keynote speaker narrated his experiences being a frontliner and shared tips and advices on how to handle Covid 19 while the Founding President Noel Sevilla delivered an inspiring message of hope and service to members.
The highlight of the celebration was the 19th year Audio Visual Presentation and it’s accomplishments since the organization was created in July 26, 2001. This also showcased the LingaPhilkofa Bayanihan Kontra-Covid program which showed how Philkofa’ s Bayanihan spirit of giving aid to those in need during the time of pandemic. The message of hope and resiliency brought about by these activities which was held nationwide was ingrained into the members who are all facing the challenges of COVID 19
A special segment titled “Kumustahan” served as the avenue to expressed Past Presidents and Board members’ gratitude to Philkofa.
The much awaited part was the Raffle Draw wherein members win prizes by answering questions from the AVP.
Aside from the games, part of the highlight were the congratulatory messages of Koica Vice President Sook-Hae Baek, Koica Country Director Song Minhyeon, Korean Chamber of Commerce Philippines Pres. Ho Ik Lee and the South Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Dongman Han.
The celebration served as a reminder and an inspiration to the members that despite the pandemic, making a difference is still possible.
