LingaPhilKOFA para Sinumaan:Tanud Harap pa Kasanyangan para ha MindanaONE (LingaPhilKOFA for Sinumaan: Thread of Peace, for MindanaONE) – Aug 1 – 31, 2022

LingaPhilKOFA para Sinumaan project was designed to increase the productivity of abaca farming through the provision of an abaca stripping machine and to facilitate economic development among the locals by securing their livelihood. The over 200 abaca farmers who are slowly regaining their hold on their abaca farms after more than two decades of displacement due to armed conflict in their area are the main beneficiaries of the project. 

The following are the main active partners during the implementation of the project: 

6th Special Forces “Makamandag” Company, 2nd Special Forces “Sabertooth” Battalion – provided the supervision and the pre-organization initiatives of the abaca farmers and manage the monitoring, evaluation and review of the project implementation. Also provided the security since the ocular visits until the project implementation. 

Philippine Fiber Development Authority (PhilFIDA) – provided technical assistance and capacity building on fiber growing and production

Other cooperating agencies and organizations were the Philippine National Police – Special Action Force 7th Special Action Battalion, Integrated Resource Development for Tri-People (IRDT), the :44th Infantry Battalion, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay, Joint Task Force – Zamboanga City and the Charlie Company 74IB and the Student Action Force – Malangas.

The beneficiaries were grateful of the assistance extended by PHILKOFA, KOICA   and other implementors of the project as the machine is expected to increase their production by a hundred folds.
