As part of the implementation of the program “Tabang VisMin: A recovery program for the victims of Typhoon Odette in Visayas and Mindanao”, the Philippine KOICA Fellows Association (PhilKOFA) in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Korean Chamber of Commerce Philippines (KCCP) handed over 4 Units of 40-inches Smart Televisions to the Sta.Fe National High School (SFNHS), Sta. Fe, Leyte on 25 April 2022.
The project was implemented in support of the school’s ongoing drive dubbed as “Telebisyon na Bigay Niyo, Malaking Tulong sa Pagtuturo ng mga Guro”. SFNHS was one of the schools affected by Typhoon Odette in the province of Leyte where most of the students live in the remote areas and hence need to travel far to reach the school. The project aims to help classroom teachers employ television in the instructional implementation as an effective teaching tool to help learners build literacy, address social issues and energize classroom dynamics, increase students’ motivation to learn, and stimulate other learning activities.
Mr. Nestor Ripalda, the school principal, expressed his warmest gratitude, in behalf of the SFNHS, to PhilKOFA and KOICA for the generosity and for choosing the school as a recipient of the project which will undoubtedly offer great advantage for the learners, administration and staff of the school. “The project will hopefully provide long-term impact to the learners in the school who have also been greatly affected by various tropical cyclones that hit the province in the recent times”, Ripalda stressed.
