The event was conducted on April 29-30, 2020 where 125 local residents received food packs that included rice, canned goods and noodles. Tricycle drivers and other local residents expressed their gratitude for the benevolence of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Philippine KOICA Fellows Association (PhilKOFA) and in responding to their plea for food subsistence as their means of livelihood was greatly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite bad weather during the distribution day, PhilKOFA Mindanao member Mhyrra Fair Barquilla managed to disperse the food packs to the tricycle drivers and local residents waiting in line to get their share of the food items. Local government officials were also around during the distribution.
The project was done cognizant with the intent to help sectors affected by the pandemic by way of alleviating food requirements and sustain even a few days of their daily needs.
The support of KOICA and LGU of Digos City thru the representation of Councilor Ramil Ian Cortez Llanos paved the way to make the activity possible by PhilKOFA Mindanao.
In the same manner, Councilor Llanos also expressed his sincere appreciation to KOICA and PhilKOFA Mindanao for bringing such opportunity and support to the local constituents in the area.
