Modern Integrated Rice Milling and Processing Complex (RPC) Phases I and II

(2005-2006/2009-2012 / US$15.3 million)

In partnership with the Department of Agriculture and the Provincial Government of Aurora, KOICA constructed an RPC in Baler through a US$2.3 million grant.  Inspired with the project’s success in increasing post-harvest production, KOICA further provided US$13 million for the Phase 2 project which will build four new RPCs in Pangasinan, Iloilo, Bohol and Davao del Sur, beginning 2009.  The RPCs aim to improve the efficiency of rice production and processing system as a means of reducing post-harvest loss, thereby contributing in achieving rice self-sufficiency in the Philippines by 2013.
