Recognizing that a lot of members Philippine KOICA Fellows Association (PhilKOFA) have no access to facemasks especially that the government is incapable to supply all families with this essential protective gear, the activity entitled “PhilKOFA I Care” aimed to provide for that need. It expresses the thought that PhilKOFA cares for its members who are out there potentially exposing themselves to the deadly coronavirus while providing service to the Filipinos.
A total of 55 active members received one (1) box of protective mask and a set of vegetable seeds courtesy of Bureau of Plant Industry during the month of May 2020. President Gina Borinaga headed this activity by announcing the mechanics on how to avail and selecting the recipients through the official PhilKOFA Facebook page. The above items were sent to the selected participants through courier delivery service in Metro Manila and through LBC delivery package to provincial members.
Despite the limited numbers of protective masks, the activity was a huge success and the Association hopes to conduct the same activity in the future to enhance camaraderie and encourage members to actively participate in future activities.
