The turn-over ceremony of Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology Bakery was held on 18 September 2012. Organized by a Korea Overseas Volunteer (KOV), Ms. Sohyun Park, the project will establish a breadmaking class and provide new cooking machines and tools to the students.

Opening Ceremony of the 1st Asian Regional Conference of the KOICA Clubs

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Philippine KOICA Fellows Association (PhilKOFA) successfully held the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Asian Regional Conference of the KOICA Clubs on August 28, 2012 at the Hyatt Hotel Manila.  The opening ceremony was attended by notable officials from KOICA Headquarters in Seoul, KOICA Philippine Office, partner agencies from the Philippine Government, and representatives of KOICA Clubs from 12 countries, namely, Cambodia, East Timor, Fiji, Indonesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

KOICA Signs Agreement for Phase II of Davao Training Center

The Korean Government’s KOREA INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AGENCY (KOICA) is seeking TWO (2) PROGRAM OFFICERS who will facilitate the implementation of its Official Development Assistance (ODA) program in the Philippines. Korea turns over Iloilo Rice Processing Complex to PHL

The Republic of Korea reaffirmed its commitment in helping the Philippines achieve rice self-sufficiency in 2013 during the March 16 inauguration ceremony of the US$3.25 M Rice Processing Complex (RPC) in Pototan, Iloilo. The ceremony was attended by Korean Ambassador Lee Hye Min, DA Secretary Proceso J. Alcala, KOICA Philippine Office Resident Representative Mr. Kim Jinoh, Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. and Congressman Arthur Defensor Jr. The RPC is a “one-stop service center” equipped with state-of-the-art, post-harvest facilities and technologies that will improve the efficiency of rice production, milling, drying and storage thereby reducing post-harvest losses and enhancing rice quality. The complex, with an area of 1,700 square meters, will have a drying capacity of 5,600 metric tons per year or 1,000 bags per day, a milling capacity of 2.5 MT or an equivalent of 50 cavans per hour, and a storage capacity of 1,100 tons.

Korea Donates US$200,000 to Earthquake Victims

His Excellency Hye Min LEE, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of the Philippines, turned over US$200,000 worth of relief goods to Secretary Dinky Soliman of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City on 16 February 2012. The relief goods, coursed through the Korea International Cooperation Agency, are composed of 22,000 sets of ready-to-eat meals, 350 sets of tents, 2,853 pieces of water purification tablets, 950 pieces of water bottles, 140 pieces of radios, 500 pieces of towels and 900 pieces of paper cups. The goods, which arrived in Cebu City on February 17 and 18, shall be distributed to the earthquake victims in Negros Oriental. Ambassador Lee expressed his deepest condolences to the victims, and hopes for their immediate recovery. KOICA presents final report of the Feasibility Study for the C6 Project

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) presented the final report of the Feasibility Study for C-6 Expressway Project on January 6, 2012 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Makati City.  The final report is the output of the $1.3 million grant extended by KOICA to DPWH to establish the viability and implementation options for the C-6 Expressway Project.
