KOICA Distributes Relief Goods to Southwest Monsoon Flood Victims in Laguna

Officials and staff of KOICA together with the new batch of Korea Overseas Volunteers (KOV) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region IV-A Office distributed relief goods to more than 1,100 families in 2 evacuation sites in Calamba City, Laguna on 11 October 2012.  The relief goods composed of 1,500 hygiene kits and 4,000 pcs. of blankets will also be distributed to affected families in Los Baños City and Bay, Laguna, and in selected cities and municipality in Pampanga.

KOICA, NWRB Signs Water Information System Agreement

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the National Water Resources Board (NWRB), represented by Resident Representative Kim Jinoh and Officer-In-Charge Elenito Bagalihog respectively, signed the agreement for the Establishment of an Integrated 3D Geographical Information System (GIS)-based Water Resources Management Information System (WRMIS) in the Provinces of Pampanga and Bulacan on 26 September 2012 at the NWRB office in Quezon City.

KOV Batch 49 Turn-over Ceremony

The third batch of Korea Overseas Volunteers (KOV) for this year had a turnover ceremony at the PNVSCA office on 11 September 2012. Having finished their 8-week language and culture training, the KOVs will now be dispatched their local host organizations to do their volunteer services.

The turn-over ceremony of Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology Bakery was held on 18 September 2012. Organized by a Korea Overseas Volunteer (KOV), Ms. Sohyun Park, the project will establish a breadmaking class and provide new cooking machines and tools to the students.

Opening Ceremony of the 1st Asian Regional Conference of the KOICA Clubs

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Philippine KOICA Fellows Association (PhilKOFA) successfully held the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Asian Regional Conference of the KOICA Clubs on August 28, 2012 at the Hyatt Hotel Manila.  The opening ceremony was attended by notable officials from KOICA Headquarters in Seoul, KOICA Philippine Office, partner agencies from the Philippine Government, and representatives of KOICA Clubs from 12 countries, namely, Cambodia, East Timor, Fiji, Indonesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
