The 2nd RCMC National Meeting is one of the significant meetings/activities included in PHILKOFAs Work and Financial Plan (WFP). The RCMCs are PHILKOFAs vital source of support for the successful implementation of its projects and activities. This meeting on 23 July 2016 held at the Ambassador’s Room, Hotel Jen, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City, Manila provided an opportunity to disseminate project details and expected deliverables for PHILKOFAs scheduled projects for 2016 as well as to obtain RCMCs inputs for 2017.
Moreover, as PHILKOFA turned 15, it was an opportune moment for PHILKOFANs to reminisce, assess, evaluate and plan accordingly for actions to be taken in the future in order to achieve the organization’s Vision, Mission and Objectives.
The salient agenda/points discussed during the 2nd RCMC were the following:
- In order for PHILKOFA to have better visualization of outcomes of Fellowship programs, KOICA has released a new guidance pertaining to PHILKOFAs focus on projects and activities, as follows:a. knowledge-sharing of PHILKOFANs based on the trainings they have attended in Korea;
b. alignment of projects/activities with development cooperation goals/sustainable development goals;
c. 50-70 participants to maximize attendance and effect of activity;
d. liquidation/activity report to be submitted 15 days after the conduct of the activity; and
e. alignment of budget on the category and budget percentage provided by KOICA
- In her presentation of PHILKOFAs Work and Financial Plan CY 2016, Ms. Vermudo, PhilKOFA President, shared the revised Vision, Mission and Objectives of the organization. She also emphasized the following points:a. Implementation of projects nationwide requires sustainability of resources; therefore, PHILKOFA has to level up its resource-generating activities;
b. Realignment of PHILKOFA’s projects/activities with KOICA’s strategies; and
c. Activate the PHILKOFA Mobile Training Team in order to transfer the knowledge and skills gained through KOICA’s capability development programs.
- The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) and PHILKOFA have recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement which aims to tap to the latter for assistance regarding identification and assessment of KOV sites/assignments to capitalize on the KOVs education, skills and technology transfer. Implementation guidelines of the MOU subject for further discussion between PNVSCA and PHILKOFA.
